Changing Seasons.
Being a gardener I am always looking at how splendid Mother Nature occurs each season. I spend a lot of time in my sunroom looking out at the bay here on Lake Chemong. It is so peaceful and quiet. I have noticed over the last few weeks how all of the Cedar Trees have begun to take on the colour of Rust as the tops of the trees are so heavily laden with seeds and the branches are drooping from the weight. Other Ever greens such as the Blue Spruce are appearing brown at the top loaded with pine cones. This represents a very cold winter with lots of snow.
In the past I have watched over the late summer for the black and brown (Monarch) caterpillar. I have not seen any where I live now. For those who have them in their back yard, please look at the length and density of the black in the center. When you cannot see the skin between the black hairs it means hard winter.
So heads up my friends. I predict a long hard winter. Put extra food in the pantry and make sure you get the winter tires on for safety. In love and light
