Matt’s Cottage.
My brother wanted to purchase a cottage in Bala. He found a beautiful 3 bedroom home with a closed in porch overlooking the lake. It had a Boat House and fabulous dock for 3 or 4 boats. The owner had lost her husband and wanted to sell the cottage. Margaret rented the cottage to one of the original Women Hockey Players (Ida) for the past 10 years. The stipulation of the sale was that Ida was allowed to stay until she went into a retirement home or passed.
My brother called and asked me to assist with deciding what to offer and how long did I think Ida would remain in the house. I told him to lower the asking price as it was just an investment and not useable for now. Go ahead and purchase it as Ida would not be long in the house. Probably out by the Spring and it was now early autumn.
Well it worked out well for Matt. The papers we signed and a few days later he received a call. Ida had passed and the house would be emptied within 30 days. Pays to have a big sister who has friends that can see into the future. I have been up often and enjoy his beautiful cottage. In love and light
