No Interfering
Sam worked in the Endocrine Dept at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto. One day she asked for a favour. One of the young adolescent patient being treated for not growing in statue was of major concern. Would I tune in and see if I could help to find a solution and explain how to help.
I stated that they were giving him artificial pig hormones and his body was not accepting them. I said if they gave him the natural product it would work. She said she would check and let me know. Sam is a nurse and gently inquired of the Doctor in charge if the treatment was artificial hormones. He stated it was. She inquired about the possibility of the issue being that he was being given- artificial instead of natural. The Dr was stern with her and stated that was what the TRAILS were about and it would remain that way. She was reminded it was her job to follow orders and not question his authority.
I mention this only as I have always felt bad that I had no way of assisting when I knew the outcome for this young person could be changed. We have no right to interfere in the lives of other who have NOT REQUESTED our assistance. There are times as a medium you need to stand back and allow the course of action to unfold without interfering. Sam and I both struggled with the knowledge and had considered taking the parents aside The repercussions could have been enormous, including Sam losing her job. Sad but that is Natural law and how big pharmaceutical products get information on products being sold and hospitals get funding. I find it extremely difficult in times when I know the medical code is “DO NO Harm” In love and light
