Peru: Healing of Dan March 26
It was raining again as we headed another hour through the jungle to a temple elevated high up in the jungle. We were told to be cautious crossing the small tributary of the Amazon River as alligators and snakes would be out. We had to climb a steep set of slippery stairs to the top of the hill. The temple was a large open wooden structure with benches built along the walls. The roof was thatched. An alter was at the far end to hold all the sacred objects.
I was sitting on the bench next to Dan on one side and Nancy on the other. It was hard and uncomfortable. Once into the ceremony you forgot all of that. Again Don Augustine played his flute, drum and danced for about an hour after he gave us the Ayahuasca. This time as he gave it to me, he said drink more, you are not taking enough. I must state it is not a pleasant taste. More like soured wine gone bad.
It was sitting on the bench next to Dan who had Leukemia. The ceremony was in full swing for about an hour when I also notice a jaguar sitting between Dan and myself. I spoke to the Jaguar and asked why he was there. He said I am here to protect you. I was very surprised and should have asked from WHAT? I didn’t. That was a lost opportunity I regret. As I glanced at the Jaguar I also saw this large oddly shaped puddle on the ground directly behind him. At first glance I thought it was another Jaguar. It wasn’t.
I was mesmerized at how many moneys and jaguars in spirit were running through and around the temple. Fascinating to watch the moneys swinging to and from the rafters and on the pole of the outside walls. Outside the Mayans spirits were at least three and four deep surrounding the temple excited to watch the reaction of our group to being aware and connect through jungle medicine. I was in awe, never had I seen such spiritual accompaniment. I can still close my eyes and see them all.
When the ceremony was over the Shaman, Don Augustine came over and asked if Dan saw the puddle on the ground? Dan replied with NO. I said I did, and what is it? Don went on to explain that it was his bad blood of the Leukemia on the ground and he received a healing during the ceremony. This ceremony went on twice as long as any of the others. As some were enjoying the vision of the opening of the pineal gland and they went up to the altar for second round to say in this state. It was a wondrous ceremony, since I see spirit already, once was enough for me. Still in awe every time I revisit the experience. On a number of occasions when I am working through a problem/issue or trying to resolve something, I have had “Mother Ayhuasca” come to visit and assist with finding the solution. Connecting to spirit is ongoing, wonderful I am truly blessed. In love and light
