Tabitha: Oct 31
Tabitha was a Chocolate - Seal point Siamese cat. I live in Calgary and feeling very alone decided to purchase a cat. Tabitha was a great sensitive companion that was extremely aware of my emotions. She love to lie in front of me as I vacuumed and made sure to be directly in the path so I would vacuum her fur too. I never had any loose hair floating about or clinging to the furniture. This was a plus in my books.
When company visited, if she sensed I like them she would come around and be available to be patted, if they wished. If she sensed I was not fond but accommodating she would hide in the bedroom climbing up on the spare twin bed and look out at the skyline and the mountains awaiting their departure.
I spent a lot of time training her to walk on a lead. When I pulled it out of the closet, she would run and sit at the front door awaiting for me to attach it to her rhinestone studded body harness. There were many odd looks as we used the elevator to go down to the garage. She would lay quietly on the passenger seat of my Firebird and off we would go on an adventure. I would do all the necessary outings that were required as she sat watching for my return. What a great companion Tabitha was.
Just before Truly was born she got out of the house on the porch roof through an upper window in the house and was hit by a car. I was heartbroken at her loss, but knew she had served me well and this was a new chapter where she no longer was the center of my attention.
I was so devastated at finding her body on the sidewalk in front of our house that Tom made sure to keep me busy for the next few days shopping ,walking and visiting friend to help pass the time for the grieving to be lessened. This allowed the healing process to begin. My wonderful memories of this delightful companion are intact. I am truth grateful for the precious time we spent together
There's a trick to the 'graceful exit.' It begins with the vision to recognize when a job, a life stage, or a relationship is over - and let it go. It means leaving what's over without denying its validity or its past importance to our lives. It involves a sense of future, a belief that every exit line is an entry, that we are moving up, rather than out." Companions, weather human or pets are precious. Enjoy them while you can. in love and light
